Dr. Jayarajan Kodikannath is the Chief Ayurvedic Consultant & Academy Director of Kerala Ayurveda USA. With over two decades of experience in India and the U.S, Vaidya Jayarajan has touched the lives of thousands of clients across a wide array of disorders. “Dr. J” as he is affectionately known, earned his degree in Ayurvedic Medicine from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala. During his time in India, he served as Chief Medical Officer at Kerala Ayurveda’s award-winning AyurvedaGram Heritage Wellness Center in Bangalore.
Dr J is on the Executive Committee for Ayurveda at Bastyr University, and serves on the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) Board of Directors.
In this interview, the affable, gentle and wise Dr. J talks about the essentials aspects of life that are “not being tended,” the power of relationships, what our pets can teach us about self-care, Ayurveda as the medicine of love, the human body as “nature’s blend”, and so much more! . Finally, Dr. J gives 3 pillars of wellness to improve the quality of our lives. Reminding us that “Every life has a purpose,” he concludes with some powerful inspiration to be the best we can.
