Just after my book, Ayurveda Cooking For Beginners, published I had the enormous privilege of spending a weekend with Vandana Shiva at her farm, Navdanya, in the Doon Valley of northern India. It was a delightful surprise when she concluded her talk by saying that the one thing we can do to uplift the world is to prepare meals with our own two hands.

This is the theme that runs through my book, through articles I have written for Spirituality & Health Magazine, and which is juicy and joyfully interwoven in my new online course, The Medicine in Your Kitchen: Introduction to Ayurvedic Cooking (where you can get 20% off because you are my friend: use the code Cooking20 when registering).

It is so beautiful to know that the healing, self-care and nurturance you offer yourself is simultaneously an offering to the world. I thank you for that, and offer deep bows to Dr. Shiva!
